This is a pivotal time for India’s aviation sector, which is witnessing unprecedented growth. Investment in airport infrastructure is projected to exceed Rs. 60,000 crore during 2025-2027, driven by increased passenger traffic and tariff adjustments. The number of passengers at Indian airports is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8-9% across 2025-2027, with domestic traffic being the major contributor. According to ICRA, air traffic is projected to increase 8-11% year-on-year, reaching 407-418 million passengers this fiscal year. Domestic passenger traffic in January 2025 alone surged 14.5% year-on-year, exceeding pre-COVID levels by 17.9%. With India poised to become one of the world’s top three aviation markets in passenger traffic by 2052, the need for cutting-edge airport infrastructure and seamless passenger experiences has never been greater.

Taher Patrawala, Managing Director of Media Fusion LLC (organiser of the event), emphasised the significance of the event: “The inaugural edition of Inter Passenger Terminal Show 2025 will be a game-changer in shaping the future of airport innovation in India. With the Union Budget 2025 emphasising a future-ready travel ecosystem, aviation is set to be a major driver of economic growth. This event will serve as a catalyst for collaboration, technology adoption, and strategic partnerships as we bring the latest advancements, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative solutions in the field of airport passenger terminal design, operations, and enhanced passenger experiences, to the Indian aviation sector. We are thrilled to bring together leading global and Indian brands to foster knowledge-sharing and progress.”

“India’s aviation sector has witnessed a phenomenal growth of over 40% in the last ten years, a testament to the transformative vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The UDAN Scheme has revolutionized regional connectivity—awarding more than 1,300 routes and operationalising 517—connecting even the remotest corners of the country through common skies. Due to the visionary leadership of Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra stands as an example for promoting the best of aviation infrastructure for the growth of aviation industry, proudly hosting the biggest FTO in the country operated by Air India in Amravati. This surge in connectivity is instrumental in empowering communities, boosting tourism, and driving inclusive economic growth. As we continue to build a future-ready aviation ecosystem, we are proud to support platforms like IPTS 2025 that bring together thought leaders and innovators to share insights and shape the next chapter of India’s aviation story,” said  Swati Pandey, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Maharashtra Airport Development Company Ltd.

The revamped UDAN scheme is set to enhance air travel access in underserved regions, further fuelling growth. Under the new version of the scheme, 120 new destinations will be added, connecting 4 crore passengers over the next 10 years. India’s air passenger traffic rose 11% Y-O-Y to 1.46 crore in January, highlighting the urgent need for advanced airport infrastructure and efficient passenger management solutions.
