Tel Aviv: Israeli company Meprolight has received a significant’ contract from the Israeli Police for the supply of Sting Pro laser pointers. The system is widely used worldwide including in security organisations in Europe.

The delivery of the advanced dual laser pointer will take place throughout the year, enhancing the Israeli Police’s tactical capabilities with improved accuracy for various operational scenarios, including close quarters battle (CQB) and covert nighttime operations. The integration of the green laser pointer provides law enforcement with a critical tool for maintaining clear visual differentiation from military units, optimizing mission success and reducing risks in combat zones.

The Sting Pro offers dual-wavelength capabilities, providing both visible (635 nm) and infrared laser pointers. With flexible low and high-intensity options, it ensures optimal performance in urban and covert environments, with a beam divergence of 0.5 metre radius.

The dual laser pointer ergonomic design allows for easy operation by both right- and left-handed users. Built to MIL STD 810 standards, the Sting Pro is rugged and durable, capable of withstanding harsh operational conditions. Weighing less than 250 grams, it mounts on a Picatinny MIL STD 1913 rail, enhancing mobility and flexibility. The dual laser pointer operates for up to 12 hours on a single 1.5V AA battery, ensuring reliable performance during extended missions. Additionally, it features a single zeroing mechanism for both visible and infrared lasers, simplifying setup for enhanced accuracy in both day and night operations.

“Meprolight continues to adapt its products to meet the evolving needs of its customers,” said Golan Kalimi, VP of Marketing at Meprolight. “The reliability of the Sting Pro has already been proven globally, and we are proud to collaborate with the Israeli Police. This partnership adds to our ongoing collaboration with the IDF, furthering our commitment to supporting security forces.”

Kalimi said that the Sting Pro will be used on the police assault rifles and machine guns. Kalimi added that the Sting Pro is very durable and operates flawlessly. “It is designed to withstand the shock waves created by the firing of the bullets and the heat especially when used on a machine gun.”

The company’s official said that the system is widely used around the world. “When the war broke out on October 7, 2023, we had to delay the supply of 1000 systems to a European customer in order to fulfil the urgent operational needs of the Israeli defence forces,” he added.
