Cutting the Weapons Supply: Israeli Air Force Orders Iranian Cargo Plane to Fly Back

Tel Aviv: The Israeli Air Force (IAF) on December 1 ordered an Iranian cargo plane not to land in the international airport in Damascus Syria. The plane carried weapons to help the Assad regime to fight the Jihadist rebels.
Syria and Iran are very close allies.
The Syrians have allowed Iran to use their territory to supply weapons to the Hezbollah in Lebanon .
For years, Israel has attacked weapon systems that arrived at Syria by air or ground on their way to the Hezbollah in Lebanon, Iran’s proxy.
Naturally, hitting the planes while they are on the ground would be the most direct course of action, but the sources agreed that bombing a civil cargo plane in a civil airport would have serious repercussions for Israel. But Israel chose to take less drastic measures as long as they work.
Israel has closely followed the cargo plane that carried different Iranian made weapon systems. The IAF contacted the captain of the plane and ordered him to fly back to Iran.
Israeli sources said that steps will be taken to disrupt the shipments of Iranian made weapon systems to the Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Assad regime to fight the Jihadist rebels in Syria.
Since the war broke out on October 7, Iran has made a great number of attempts to transfer weapons to the Hezbollah in Lebanon. The IAF attacked all these shipments when they crossed the area that is a junction between Iran – Iraq and Syria.
