India Civil Aviation Minister Inaugurates Boeing Healthcare Initiative in Srikakulam

Srikakulam: Civil Aviation Minister of India, Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated a Boeing healthcare initiative at the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. In partnership with Doctors For You (DFY), Boeing has equipped the hospital with essential diagnostic and therapeutic tools to enhance patient care, support medical staff, and strengthen the facility’s ability to meet evolving healthcare challenges.

Serving a rural population of approximately 2.8 million, GGH plays a vital role in delivering healthcare to underprivileged communities in the region.

In partnership with Doctors For You (DFY), Boeing has equipped the Government General Hospital in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, with essential diagnostic and therapeutic tools to enhance patient care, support medical staff, and strengthen the facility’s ability to meet evolving healthcare challenges. These include:

  • Autoclave: Sterilises instruments to prevent infection transmission
  • BERA & PTA Devices: Diagnose hearing impairments
  • ELISA Reader: Detects various infectious diseases
  • HPLC System: Diagnoses hematological disorders such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia
  • CBC/Hematology Analyser: Analyzes blood samples
  • Ureteroscope: Facilitates renal surgeries
  • Hospital Laundry System: Maintains hygiene and asepsis within hospital premises

About the Boeing – Doctors For You Partnership

Since early 2020, Boeing India has continued to partner with DFY, a pan-India humanitarian organisation committed to equitable and sustainable healthcare delivery. The Boeing-DFY partnership was instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic in supporting critical medical relief efforts across 14 states.

Supported by Boeing Global Engagement (BGE) initiatives, and implemented by DFY, the partnership helped expand healthcare infrastructure through CT scanner installations, ambulance donations, oxygen plants, and primary health center upgrades, collectively benefiting over 250,000 individuals in underserved communities. This partnership exemplifies a successful public-private collaboration addressing critical healthcare gaps in underserved regions by:
