Greece in Negotiations with Rafael, Plans to Acquire Iron Dome and  David’s Sling Air Defence Systems

Date:

Tel Aviv: Israeli officials confirmed that the Greek ministry of defence is in negotiations with Israeli company Rafael to purchase the company’s Iron Dome and David’s Sling air defence systems.
Last week Greek officials said that the country’s ministry of defence plans to acquire the Rafael systems in a deal estimated at 2 billion Euros.
The two systems are two layers of the Israeli multi-layered air defence system that also includes the Arrow interceptor designed to protect from ballistic missiles.
All three systems, the Iron Dome and David’s Sling made by Rafael and the Arrow made by Israel Aerospace Industries are combat proven and took a major part in defending Israel from attacks performed by Iran and its proxies in the ongoing war.
Germany has purchased the Arrow 3 and deliveries are planned to begin in 2025.
Greek experts visited Israel in recent months and were briefed about the success of the Iron Dome and David’s Sling in the ongoing war and in recent years.
