Dublin: GD Helicopter Finance (GDHF) announced December 17 that it has delivered the first of two Airbus H160 Helicopters on lease to Chipsan Aviation (Chipsan). These will be the first H160s to operate in India and Chipsan will operate the H160 onshore, servicing government and corporate missions.

Established as a Partnership firm in 2010 Chipsan Aviation was reconstituted as a Private Limited Company in 2012. They began as an aggregator of business jets but have since expanded their operations. Chipsan obtained their Air Operator Permit in 2017 after acquiring their first Bell 407. Later on they acquired one H135 in 2019 and another Bell 407 in 2020. They added two more helicopters in 2022, India’s first two Airbus H145D3 on a dry lease. Chipsan operates two Airbus H130 and an Airbus H135T2 on a wet lease. In addition, they have a separately managed Airbus H145D2.
Chipsan Aviation also have their own Continuous Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services. Chipsan is currently in the certification process for a helicopter pilot training academy.
