Jodhpur/New Delhi: Aerospace aficionadas got a double treat in Jodhpur as the city saw from September 12 for three days – one of the largest multinational exercise in which military personnel belonging to 11 nations took part in Exercise Tarang Shakti-24 along with the the India Defence Aviation Exposition (IDAX-24) which was inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
This edition of IDAX at Jodhpur, saw an impressive participation from industry and with the visitors getting to see a wide range of products, technologies. It gave an opportunity for the Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs) and Indian audiences to witness, experience and interact with participants from Indian Aviation Industry including DPSUs, DRDO, Private Industries (Tier-I, Il, III) and top notch Start-Ups.
IDAX showcased indigenous skills and indomitable spirit of Indian Aviation Industries to a wide spectrum of decision-makers and end users from Global Air Forces participating in Tarang Shakti 2024.
The IDAX is expected to boost India’s image in the defence sector as it helped India’s Aerospace industry seek export opportunities, integrate into the supply chain of Foreign OEMs and ensure collaboration for co-production/ co-development of Indian’s Defence needs.
IAF’s Directorate of Aerospace Design (DAD) gave an exposure to partner startups and also an opportunity to these startups to showcase niche technologies and products like RF Gun to counter unmanned aerial threat, High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS), Loitering ammunition, Air-launched Flexible asset, Augmented Reality /Virtual Reality (AR/VR) smart glasses tech tool for training, Expandable Active Decoys, Real-time aircrew health monitoring system and Foldable field mats to mitigate quick runway repair, highlighting the growing strength and potential of India’s aerospace sector.
lAF has been playing a pivotal role in nurturing innovators, startups, and MSMEs identifying, developing and implementing innovative solutions. Through dedicated mentoring and guidance, DAD is steering these entities toward developing cutting-edge technologies that align with the future requirements of the lAF, thereby strengthening the government’s push towards ‘Aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance).
This Exposition was indeed an opportunity for putting on show the best platform for the Aviation and Defence Sector Industrial Partners to connect with IAF’s Innovation Directorate and decision-makers, and witness showcasing of indigenous products.
The Indian Air Force is hosted the first phase of its largest ever multilateral air combat exercise Ex Tarang Shakti at Sulur airbase of Indian Air Force in Tamil Nadu. It is aimed at showcasing its military capabilities and strengthening international cooperation. Exercise Tarang Shakti is designed to enhance India’s defence ties with the participating nations while demonstrating its Indigenous defence capabilities.
The second leg of the exercise began on August 29 and concluded on September 14 at Air Force Station Jodhpur.
