Elbit Systems Awarded $277 Million Contracts for 30mm Turrets and Munitions by an International Customer

Tel Aviv: Israeli company Elbit Systems has been awarded contracts in an aggregate value of approximately $277 million by an international customer for supply of 30 mm turrets and munitions. The contracts will be performed over a period of three years.

The UT30 MK2 is a configurable manned and unmanned turret that enhances the firepower of armoured personnel carriers (APCs) without compromising troop safety. Its modular design and open architecture allow for both unmanned and manned turret configurations, with easy conversion between the two and integration of various missiles and sights. Featuring a very low profile, the UT30MK2 integrates a wide array of weapon systems, including a 30mm main gun, a coaxial 7.62mm, and ATGMs.

The UT30 MK2 is an advanced unmanned turret system developed by Elbit Systems, designed primarily for armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and infantry fighting vehicles. It provides high firepower without exposing troops, featuring a low-profile, modular design that supports both unmanned and manned configurations with easy conversion.

Equipped with a 30mm main gun (such as ATK MK44 ABM), 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, and integrated Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM) it supports air burst munitions and various weapon options.

The turret has a Dual-axis stabilisation system for firing on-the-move against stationary or moving targets; advanced electro-optical sights for gunner and commander with independent stabilisation, automatic target trackers, day/night/all-weather capability, and hunter-killer functionality.

In April 2025, Elbit secured a $100 million contract with General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) to supply UT30 MK2 turrets for ASCOD vehicles to an unnamed NATO European country, with delivery through 2027 and local production involvement. It’s also considered for platforms like Spain’s VCR 8×8.
