DEFEA – Defence Exhibition Athens participated in the Hellenic Pavilion at the AUSA 2019, the largest defence exhibition in the US, which took place from 14th until 16th of October in Washington D.C.
In the context of the AUSA 2019 , a special event took place for the presentation of DEFEA-Defence Exhibition Athens and the US Pavilion, which the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce will organise. Mr. Kyriakos Kyriakides, General Director of the General Directorate for Defence Investments and Armanents (GDDIA), and the President of Hellenic Manufacturers of Defence and Security Material Association (SEKPY), Mr. TasosRozolis, opened with their speeches the event while at the same time the planning of the US Pavilion was presented by the Director of the Hellenic American Chamber of commerce, Mr. Ilias Spirtounias. Also the Exhibition Manager of DEFEA, Mr. Vasilis Barkas, made a presentation of the whole exhibition to the delegations of American defence companies.
It was also stated that in the DEFEA-Defence Exhibition Athens 2020, US companies will participate in the US Pavilion with a total surface area of 1,200 square meters, which demonstrates the importance of the exhibition to the US defence industry.
Taking into consideration the MDCA, the participation of US Companies in DEFEA- Defence Exhibition Athens comes to a significant time for the relationship between the two countries and their cooperation in the Defence and Technical field focusing on the development prospects of the Greek Defence Industry and the US investments in infrastructure and equipment.
The Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, which has significant experience in such organisations, and particular in the defence and security field, will help decisively to reconstitute the country’s international defence and security exhibition profile.
Worthy of mention is that in DEFEA apart from the US will participate also 15 other countries, known for their defence industry with their own pavilions.
DEFEA – Defence Exhibition Athens takes place on 22-24 June 2020 and is under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Defence/General Directorate of Defence Investments and Armaments (GDDIA).It is organised by the exhibition organisation ROTA S.A. in collaboration with the Hellenic Manufacturers of Defense and Security Material Association (SEKPY). The exhibition is also under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy and with the support of the Hellenic Aerospace and Defence Companies Association (EHEA) and the Hellenic Aerospace Technology & Applications Association (EVIDITE).
