Gandhinagar. BEML Limited a Defence Public Sector Undertaking received Raksha Mantri Award for Excellence ‘Raksha Srijan Ratn’ 2021-22 in the category of Indigenisation/ Import Substitution Under Large Scale Enterprise.
At a special function held at DefExpo 2022, Gandhinagar Amit Banerjee, CMD BEML received the award from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in presence of Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State for Defence, Lt Gen R K Malhotra, Director General (DGQA). AK Srivastav, Director (Defence Business), BEML also present on this occasion.
The award is for BEML designed and developed Arjun Armoured Recovery & Repair Vehicle (ARRV) in co-ordination with CVRDE and equipment is totally made in-house without any foreign collaboration. In true reflection of ‘Make in India’ concept, BEML made ARRV Tanks, can recover disabled Combat Tanks and shift them to the specific location for necessary repairs for quick redeployment in the field. Arjun ARRV is a 60 Ton class Armour Recovery Vehicle built as a variant of Main Battle Tank-Arjun MBT
