Third Edition of Warfare and Aerospace Strategy Program to Culminate in a Capstone Seminar on June 25

New Delhi:The third edition of the ‘Warfare and Aerospace Strategy Program (WASP); a strategic educational initiative of the Indian Air Force (IAF) is culminating in a capstone seminar at the Air Force Auditorium here on June 25.

The theme of the seminar is India’s Strategic Culture and Imperatives for Contemporary National Security’. The  External Affairs Minister (EAM), Dr S Jaishankar will be gracing the seminar and will be addressing the participants. The event will be attended by the three Services Chiefs, senior military commanders, veterans, distinguished civilian officers from various ministries and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Vice-Chancellors from Central and State Universities.

‘WASP’ was started in 2022 as part of Professional Military Education (PME) program, with an aim to create a pool of air power practitioners with critical thinking skills, capable of producing well researched, cogent arguments and strategies in various domains of warfare. The program is guided by an external faculty consisting of accomplished practitioner-scholars, with extensive teaching and research experience.

The third edition of ‘WASP’ commenced on  March 16  with a tri-service participation, along with academia for the first time. The participants comprise of fourteen officers from the Indian Air Force, two from the Indian Navy, one from the Indian Army, and a research scholar from a Think Tank. The graduates will be awarded with PG diploma in strategic studies by the Rashtriya Raksha University.
