SpiceJet to Expand Domestic Connectivity, to Initiate Eight New Flights

Date:

New Delhi: SpiceJet has announced that the airline will expand its network by initiating eight new flights. The budget carrier will be starting new routes from November 15, connecting Jaipur with Varanasi, Amritsar, and Ahmedabad. Pune will also be linked with Ahmedabad as a result of this move.

The addition of these flights has come within a month of the airline launching 32 new flights in October, along with two international flights. Similarly, last month, SpiceJet announced the commencement of flights linking Shivamogga in Karnataka with Chennai and Hyderabad under the aegis of the Union Civil Aviation Ministry’s UDAN scheme.

Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer, SpiceJet said, “These flights will provide our passengers a greater flexibility and convenience. These new flights reflect our commitment to supporting passenger demand across tier-II cities and beyond. With our expanded winter schedule, including international and UDAN routes, we aim to provide our customers with greater convenience, affordability, and seamless travel experiences.

“Earlier this week the airline also received a upgrade in its rating by Acuité Ratings & Research Limited. The ratings agency upgraded SpiceJet’s long-term rating by four notches to B+ and its short-term rating to A4. The rating agency has also assigned a ‘Stable’ outlook to the airline,” Maharshi added.

The airline had raised ₹3000 crore through QIP in September and since then, SpiceJet has reduced its financial liabilities of over ₹600 crore. It has also cleared pending salaries, GST liabilities, and PF dues. In the past too, they have reached settlements with various lessors since raising money via QIP.
