Smart Shooter to Showcase New Configuration of SMASH 3000 at DSEI 2025

Tel Aviv: Israeli company Smart Shooter has unveiled a new configuration of its combat-proven SMASH 3000, adapted for use with Heavy Machine Gun (HMG). The new solution will be presented for the first time at the DSEI 2025 exhibition in London.

According to the company, this milestone follows Smart Shooter’s successful participation in Project VANAHEIM/FLYTRAP, a UK-US collaborative effort to expedite the adoption of advanced Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft System (C-sUAS) technologies into generalist combat units, offering practical, field-based, realistic operational scenarios to assess kinetic interception.

During the latest VANAHEIM trial, SMASH fire control systems were employed in handheld, vehicle-mounted, and remotely operated configurations. Notably, the SMASH 3000 was mounted for the first time on a Heavy Machine Gun, along with the SMASH Hopper Light Remotely Controlled Weapon Station mounted on a reconnaissance vehicle. Smart Shooter successfully engaged UAS targets at ranges up to 400 metres.

SMASH systems were further evaluated for their network built-in connectivity. Fully compatible with Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK), SMASH demonstrated seamless integration of SMASH 3000 through an ATAK plugin with a battlefield management system (BMS), enabling the transfer of target data from the BMS to SMASH 3000 while empowering the shooter with simple yet powerful Situational Awareness (SA) capabilities for coordinated target engagement.

Michal Mor, CEO of Smart Shooter said that project VANAHEIM provided a valuable opportunity to evaluate the company’s systems in a modern complex battlefield environment for generalist combat units.

“The extension of the SMASH Fire Control Systems into new configurations, including HMG and vehicle-mounted configurations, reflects our continued focus on delivering adaptable, effective solutions for evolving threats. At DSEI, we are proud to present these advancements, which build on the operational experience gained with SMASH systems already in service with the UK, US, and numerous other NATO forces,” Michal Mor added.

Deployed by leading militaries worldwide, Smart Shooter’s SMASH fire control systems have proven their value in diverse operational environments. Continuously developed to meet new challenges, the SMASH family furnishes dismounted and mounted combatants with enhanced precision, situational awareness, and combat effectiveness.
