Saab Launches the Barracuda User Group

Saab is launching the Barracuda User Group whose first meeting is on June 13 at the 2018 Eurosatory defence exhibition, Paris. Saab is establishing the Barracuda User group to discuss operational needs, future development of signature management and share knowledge and experience.

Saab has taken the initiative to launch this User Group as customers’ needs, and the threats they face, evolve. Military representatives and industry participants from 16 different countries are to attend the first meeting. The meetings are to be held once a year, rotating between Eurosatory and DSEI in London.

The Barracuda User Group will be opened by the Chief of Staff of the Swedish Army, Major General Karl Engelbrektson, who is to give a talk on the importance of signature management. From Saab’s Research & Development, Johan Jersblad, Senior Development Engineer Barracuda will talk about the future and the future threats.

Saab will be displaying Barracuda products including two new solutions on its Eurosatory stand in Hall 6 K 371 with experts on hand to discuss Barracuda’s benefits on the battlefield.

Barracuda’s advanced camouflage technology products have already been exported to more than 60 countries worldwide. Saab offers a unique package of tailor-made camouflage systems and force protection solutions that decrease the enemy’s ability to detect and engage. These solutions protect personnel, vehicles and base infrastructure against hostile sensors and enemy target acquisition.

Barracuda camouflage solutions offer multispectral protection. Everything from ultra-violet, visual, near infrared, short wave infrared to thermal sensors and radar. Built-in thermal radiation protection reduces the operating temperature inside vehicles and increases crew comfort, firing accuracy, and fuel efficiency.
