MS Tech Bags Order from AAI to Install and Integrate THREATSCAN ETDs at 93 Indian Airports

Date:

Tel Aviv: Israeli company MS Tech announced that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has placed an order for multiple THREATSCAN Desktop Explosives Trace Detectors (ETD’s).
Through a competitive Make in India tender process conducted by AAI, MS Tech won the bid to install and integrate its THREATSCAN ETD’s for passenger carry-on baggage screening at 93 airports in India. This award follows multiple previous contracts where MS Tech already deployed a large volume of ETD’s, including at Chennai International Airport, Goa International Airport, Kolkata International Airport and many others.
“The Indian market is forecast to be the third-largest aviation market in the world by 2027, so security is a mission-critical factor in enabling India’s airports to be future-ready. MS Tech is privileged to once again partner with AAI – supporting Indian airports to stay ahead of the evolving threat landscape with a technological solution that is fully compliant with regulatory requirements,” said Doron Shalom, CEO of MS Tech.
Shalom added that the numbers in India airports is growing very fast. “Our systems, with the use of AI can alert all the relevant parties about a security issue in seconds, This capability does not exist in sensors that are based on older technologies.”
AAI manages a total of 125 airports in India and is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure both on the ground and in the air. The organisation is also responsible for building new terminals for the many new small airports under development by the Government of India.
India’s aviation sector is experiencing unprecedented growth. In the past 11 years, India added 88 new airports, bringing the total to 149 operational airports, with another 50 expected by 2030. Passenger numbers are surging as well. India handled nearly 380 million domestic and international travelers in FY 2023–24, making it one of the fastest-growing civil aviation markets in the world.
Against this backdrop, AAI – which manages 125 airports – continues to expand and modernise its infrastructure, in line with regulations set by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
MS Tech’s flagship products are the EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, MULTISCAN, LIQUISCAN and the THREATSCAN.
The EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, MULTISCAN and THREATSCAN are explosive and narcotics trace and vapours detectors and the LIQUISCAN is a liquid explosives detector that uses the innovative High-Frequency Quartz Crystal Microbalance “HF-QCM” nanotechnology sensors – developed, manufactured and patented by MS Tech Ltd. The products feature an innovative design with self-calibrating and self-cleaning capabilities, with the highest levels of sensitivity and operational availability. The HF-QCM nanotechnology sensors are non-radioactive, providing a completely green and safe working environment.
The EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, LIQUISCAN, MULTISCAN and now the THREATSCAN, are ideal for aviation and transportation security, high-threat facilities and infrastructures, military, customs and border control, mail inspection and cargo screening markets. The systems are operationally proven in a wide spectrum of temperatures and withstand even the harshest environmental conditions including dust and humidity.
MS Tech is a global developer, manufacturer and innovator of nanotechnology detection and diagnostics sensors. MS Tech’s technologies are based on its award winning and patented sensors, which represent a scientific breakthrough in the detection and identification of materials in gas, vapour and liquid phases.
With over 27 years of history in analytical chemistry and technology experience, MS Tech’s innovative sensor technologies are environmentally friendly with widespread applications in several market sectors, including food safety and product inspection, homeland security and defence, bio-medical diagnostics, fire and smoke detection, water and air monitoring and aerospace. MS Tech develops, manufactures and supplies customised detection sensors and integrated solutions to its affiliate companies and other industrial OEMs and resellers.
