John Cockerill’s Vivek Bhide Appointed President of Indo-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce & Industry

Mumbai: Vivek Bhide, Regional President, India, and Group Transformation Officer of John Cockerill India Limited – an engineering and equipment-based solutions provider – has been appointed as the President of the Indo-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBLCCI), succeeding Mr. Mukesh Malhotra, Country Manager & Managing Director of Syensqo India.

Bhide’s appointment coincides with IBLCCI’s 60th anniversary celebrations, which is a significant milestone in the history of business ties between India, Belgium, and Luxembourg. As the 61st President of the Chamber, Bhide will play a pivotal role in fostering continued economic growth and collaboration among the member nations.

The event was graced by the presence of H.E. Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador of Belgium to India, and Frank Geerkens, Consul General of Belgium, further underscoring the strength of the relationship between the countries. Additionally, Dr Sharmila Amin – Managing Director South Asia-India at Bertling Logistics India, and Vasant Pathak, Vice President of NABROS Transport Pvt. Ltd., were re-elected as Vice Presidents of the IBLCCI.

Vivek Bhide has over 34 years of exposure to the chemicals and industrial manufacturing industries. As the Regional President, India, and Group Transformation Officer at John Cockerill, Bhide brings a wealth of experience to his role at IBLCCI. With his deep understanding of Indian and international markets, techno-commercial expertise, and experience of driving John Cockerill’s growth in India, Bhide is well-positioned to strengthen the Indo-Belgian-Luxembourg economic partnership.

Prior to his current role at John Cockerill, he was the Managing Director of John Cockerill India Limited and a member of the Extended Group Executive Committee. Before joining John Cockerill, Bhide worked in process engineering and R&D at DuPont in the US, where he led several key projects in technology, manufacturing, new business development, and analytical science. Upon returning to India, he held various leadership roles, including leading DuPont’s Packaging and Industrial Polymers business for South Asia and managing global marketing for the company’s pigment business.

Bhide holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Delaware, USA. He also has a Certificate in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School.
