Tel Aviv: Classified air launched ballistic missiles were used by the Israeli air force (IAF) to neutralise the Syrian and Iraqi air defence systems to open a ”clean corridor” for more than a hundred aircraft that on Saturday morning (October 26) performed a massive strike against targets in Iran.
The massive attack was performed almost four weeks after the Islamic Republic launched a massive barrage of ballistic missiles on Israel.
According to the Israeli defence forces (IDF), the IAF performed “precise strikes” that hit Iranian strategic military sites, specifically armed drones and ballistic missile manufacturing facilities as well as air defence systems.
The IAF’s F-15, F-16 and F-35 were air refuelled by 707 air tankers. In addition, according to sources, the IAF operated some of its special mission aircraft to supply ”extra support” to the attacking aircraft.
The large scale attack was fully coordinated with the US. As reported by Raksha Anirveda, the US had rushed at least two THAAD air defence systems to Israel in anticipation for more Iranian attacks.
The Iranian efforts to counter the Israeli massive attack were foiled.
The Islamic Republic closed its airspace for the duration of the raids, which were carried out in multiple waves over several hours in different parts of Iran. There were reports of strikes in the regions of Shiraz, Isfahan, Karaj, and Tehran.
