Tel Aviv: In the early hours of Friday, June 13, the Israeli air force performed five waves of attacks on targets in Iran. Among the targets were nuclear sites, ballistic missiles bases and air defence systems.
In parallel, the Mossad performed pinpoint attacks and killed of senior officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). These attacks were carried out by weapons operated from Iranian soil.
In retaliation, Iran has launched more than 100 armed drones into Israel in the last few hours, according to IDF spokesman Brig Gen Effie Defrin, who made this announcement at a news briefing on Friday, June 13 morning.
He added that more than 200 IDF planes have used more than 330 munitions to strike more than 100 sites in Iran. The Israeli air force is intercepting the Iranian armed drones over Syria and Jordan.
The Iranian nuclear facility in Natanz, a major part of the Iranian nuclear program was destroyed by the Israeli airforce that used “special munitions”.
Israeli defence officials believe that the Natanz facility was “significantly damaged” in the airstrikes.
Footage circulating online and reports from the ground confirm heavy strikes at the site.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that Natanz was among the targets of the Israeli strikes.
Explosions at Natanz were widely reported by Iranian state media and eye witnesses, with additional blasts detected in other key cities hosting nuclear and military infrastructure.
