Tel Aviv: The Israeli Navy is taking active part in the effort to protect Israel from weapon systems launched by Iran.
Last night, eight UAVs launched from Iran were intercepted by the Israeli Navyās missile ships. For the first time, an interception was carried out using the long range version of the Barak MX missile made by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
In a first, this system in cooperation with advanced sensors were operationally employed. The interceptor, which is installed on the INS Saāar 6 missile ship, is capable of countering a wide range of threats, including UAVs, cruise missiles, high-trajectory threats, shore-to-sea missiles, and more.
Overnight, the Israeli Navyās missile ship flotilla intercepted eight UAVs launched from Iran. Since the beginning of the operation, it has intercepted approximately 25 unmanned aerial vehicles that posed a threat to the civilians of the State of Israel.
The missile ships of Flotilla 3, in coordination with the Israeli Air Force, continue to be deployed across all arenas and serve as a force multiplier in the mission of defending the skies of Israel.
