Tel Aviv: Israeli company Elbit Systems has teamed with Serco, a British outsourcing and defence support provider in a joint effort to get a major US $ 2.7 billion contract to deliver training and support services for the British Armed Forces.
The collaboration is based on Elbit’s capability to supply its very advanced simulators as part of the major programme.
The programme was designed to upgrade the British Army’s training infrastructure, including the introduction of digital records, advanced simulations, and support systems for managing up to 60,000 British troops annually. Serco aims at providing the local platform and logistics.
The Elbit-Serco partnership represents one of the largest overseas contracts for Israeli defence companies in the UK, reflecting a growing trend toward international defence cooperation and industrial alliances.
This collaboration comes after the Israeli company won some big defence contracts in Europe, covering artillery, drones, electronic warfare, and digitalised military systems.
The Elbit-Serco joint venture is a major UK-Israeli defence industry collaboration centered on army training modernisation, technical integration, and political considerations tied to outsourcing security functions to Israeli technology firms.
Elbit Systems provides advanced simulators for air, ground, and naval platforms, offering high-fidelity, immersive training solutions for various military operations. These systems utilise advanced computer-generated forces (CGF) for realistic battlefield scenarios and leverage embedded virtual avionics (EVA) for airborne training.
Elbit’s simulators are designed for mission preparation, execution, and post-mission analysis, adapting to customer needs through tailored solutions and components.
