Tel Aviv: The AH-64 Apache attack helicopters of the Greek Air Force are being upgraded with systems and weapons of two Israeli companies – Elbit Systems and Rafael.
The upgrade program values US $ 34 million covers 19 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters.
Elbit Systems is providing new advanced systems such as the Modernised Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor System (M-TADS/PNVS) and the Integrated Helmet and Display Sighting System (IHADSS) for these helicopters.
Additionally, the helicopters will be equipped with Rafael-manufactured Spike NLOS fire-and-forget anti-tank guided missiles.
This upgrade enhances the helicopter’s pilot targeting and night vision capabilities and significantly boosts its combat effectiveness with advanced missile armament.
The programme reflects the deepening defence ties between Israel and Greece, involving advanced technology transfer and military cooperation.
