BEL Signs MoU with Indian Institute of Technology Madras

 

Lucknow: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) have entered into an agreement for research collaboration in the areas of ‘Propellants, Explosives and Related Technologies’.

Anandi Ramalingam, Director (Marketing), BEL, and Prof Ravindra Gettu, Dean (IC&SR)-IITM, signed the MoU documents on behalf of BEL and IITM respectively.

IITM is carrying out research in the field of explosives and propellants having applications in defence and space, jointly with Government R&D institutions. BEL, a leading defence and aerospace company involved in the development, engineering and manufacture of missile systems, gun upgrades, sub-systems for space applications and satellite integration (AIT), is actively pursuing opportunities which have been opened up to the Indian industry in the defence and space segment.

The MoU will enable joint research programmes in the field of explosives and propellants, visits by scientists, engineers and researchers to each other’s facilities for undertaking joint research projects, knowledge sharing and capability development among others.
