BEL and SASMOS Sign Strategic MoU to Strengthen Defence Indigenisation

Bengaluru: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and SASMOS HET Technologies Ltd, a prominent player in the aerospace, defence and space sectors, on February 16, 2026, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advanced defence technologies.

The MoU was exchanged by Manoj Jain, CMD, BEL, and HG Chandrashekar, Chairman and Managing Director of SASMOS, in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary (Defence Production).

This strategic partnership is aligned with the Government of India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission and focuses on co-development and co-indigenisation in key technology domains, including Fibre Optics and Photonics, Tank Electronics, Naval Systems and airborne platforms. The collaboration aims to enhance India’s aerospace and defence capabilities while expanding the export potential of indigenous products and systems.
