Tel Aviv: Israeli company Attis Aviation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a European partner to establish a UAV production facility in Europe. The facility will enable Attis Aviation to serve EU and NATO customers, delivering its innovative ROC VTOL UAV system tailored for ISR and security missions.
ROC VTOL will bring some breakthrough capabilities to the forces in the field. Mark Koltun, CEO of Attis aviation said that the ROC will be capable of performing a long list of missions.
According to the company’s CEO, the ROC is designed for fast field deployment and will be capable of carrying a payload of 40 kgs for more than 20 hours. The ROC has been tested carrying a CONTROP EO/IR sensor in the nose, an ELTA radar installed in the payload bay, and mission pods mounted on the wing stations.

Mark Koltun said that the different payloads will be carried on a nose station, in a large payload bay and on wings’ stations. The Roc is designed to be packaged into a trailer and can be transported by a tactical vehicle or helicopter, with rapid deployment concept by two operators.
The new VTOL has a hybrid propulsion system – heavy fuel (JP-8) engine combined with electrical motor, optimising endurance. The communications systems carried by the ROC enable LOS and BLOS communication, operation in GPS denied environment.
The effort by some Israeli companies to introduce new VTOL versions has been accelerated based on the initial lessons from the ongoing war.
