AERO Friedrichshafen 2026: AURA AERO to Reveal ERA’s New Design, Showcase INTEGRAL R and INTEGRAL S

Toulouse-Francazal Airport: At AERO Friedrichshafen 2026, AURA AERO will exclusively reveal the new exterior and interior design of ERA, its hybrid-electric regional aircraft, designed to address the environmental challenges of the 21st century. This new milestone highlights the programme’s progress. Staying true to its series hybrid propulsion architecture, ERA is evolving toward a simpler, more robust design that is even better suited to market needs. The work carried out has notably optimised the integration of the high-voltage electrical architecture and enhanced the aircraft’s versatility, designed for regional transport as well as business aviation, cargo, and special missions.

By combining environmental sustainability with economic viability, ERA aims to reshape the future of regional aviation. For its customers, ERA offers a solution that is more flexible and more efficient. Its versatility allows it to meet a variety of needs – regional transport, business aviation, cargo, or special missions – with a single platform, while its hybrid-electric architecture is designed to reduce its operating costs and environmental footprint. ERA was thus designed to help operators offer more sustainable regional routes, while maintaining the economic performance of their operations.

INTEGRAL takes Centre Stage
AURA AERO will also showcase two aircraft from its family of two-seater training aircraft with aerobatic capabilities: INTEGRAL R and INTEGRAL S, the next-generation training aircraft. Certified in Europe since December 2024, INTEGRAL R already has a full order book for 2026. Delivery slots for 2027 are now open and can be reserved directly with the sales teams at the show. The aircraft is also expected to obtain its US certification from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) by summer 2026. This milestone will pave the way for the first deliveries in North America starting at the end of the year, from AURA AERO’s manufacturing facility in Daytona Beach, Florida, which opened last fall.

Designed for pilot training, INTEGRAL S is currently undergoing EASA certification, with first deliveries expected this year. Thanks to its tricycle landing gear and wide flight envelope, it stands out for its excellent manoeuvrability in every phase of flight. Its side-by-side cockpit, the hallmark of the INTEGRAL family, facilitates interaction between instructor and student, making INTEGRAL S a particularly suitable platform for both initial and advanced training.

Equipped with state-of-the-art Garmin avionics, all the INTEGRAL aircraft feature intuitive controls that facilitate a quick learning curve and more efficient training. The recording and analysis of flight data, thanks to the EPONA platform – developed exclusively by AURA AERO – also enable in-depth debriefings on pilot and aircraft performance, a particularly innovative feature in the training aircraft segment. EPONA also enables the optimisation of operations and the implementation of predictive maintenance to reduce the risk of breakdowns and increase aircraft availability.

Available with a Lycoming engine in its thermal version or a Safran motor in its electric version, the INTEGRAL is UPRT and VFR compliant. It also stands out as one of the safest aircraft in its class, being the only one equipped with an airframe parachute. A comprehensive range for the future of flight training and light aviation, the INTEGRAL range consists of three complementary models, to offer the most comprehensive flying experience:

  • INTEGRAL R: designed for flight training and aerobatics, a conventional landing gear and a 210-hp SEP engine; EASA-certified, FAA certification expected in 2026; deliveries in Europe since 2025.
  • INTEGRAL S: designed for training and recreational flying, with tricycle landing gear and a 180 hp SEP engine; EASA certification and first deliveries expected this year.
  • INTEGRAL E: 100% electric version, equipped with Safran’s ENGINeUS motor; certification expected in 2027.

Ahead of the show’s opening, Mattia Padulo, Chief Technical Officer of AURA AERO, will take part in the Hydrogen & Battery Summit on April 21 at 4:00 pm CET, during the “Decarbonising Aviation” panel discussion (Conference Centre East, Berlin Room).

The manufacturer will also host a press conference on Tuesday, April 22, at 9:00 am CET (Lichtenstein Room). This event will provide an update on the company’s latest news, its industrial development in France and the United States, the certification and ramp-up roadmap for the INTEGRAL programme, and the progress of the ERA programme.
