Description
Reflecting on the past nine months, my observation has been that unperturbed by global turbulence, India’s march towards achieving its Viksit Bharat 2047 goals is on the right track. However, what’s missing is an accelerated pace and deep reforms to strengthen its fiscal management, industrial ecosystem, and policy implementation. The traditional incremental approach has to make way for a transformative approach to maintain a steady growth trajectory on multiple fronts.
India’s strategic autonomy and Aatmanirbharta in the defence drive are under continuous scrutiny amidst the rapid churn taking place in the world order. The upheaval arising out of US President Trump’s tariff war and America First nationalism has continuously put nations across continents on tenterhooks. The political and strategic unity of the collective West is showing fissures; Russia is seeking more respectful terms of engagement, an ambitious China is intent on building a post-Western order, and Europe is keen on having its geopolitical act in order sans US dominance. Resilient India has to unleash its potential through self-belief and self-realisation to grab every opportunity and seek multiple avenues of cooperation as leverage for its own benefit.
