Navies equip their surface ships with very advanced communication systems that will enable coordinated operations with other ships and forces in the air and on the ground.
Israeli company Orbit Communications Systems (Orbit-CS) was awarded a $3 million contract with a prominent European integrator to supply its advanced OceanTRx 4MIL satellite communication systems for a NATO navy. The systems will be installed on military maritime platforms and will be delivered during 2025.
The OceanTRx 4MIL Quad-Band SATCOM system, recently launched by Orbit, is based on the proven OceanTRx4 system but with advanced features adapted for military platforms. It supports a variety of antenna configurations with a diameter of 1.15 metres, operating in Ku, X, Ka commercial and Ka military frequencies, including a unique feature for simultaneous operation of multiple frequencies for global activities. Designed for quick and convenient installation, maintenance and upgrade, the OceanTRx4 MIL provides defence customers with a combination of exceptional RF performance and availability.
