GRSE Conferred With Prestigious Dun & Bradstreet India’s Top PSU Award 2022

Kolkata: Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd., (GRSE), one of the leading Public Sector Undertaking and Mini-ratna Category 1 Shipyard has been conferred with the prestigious Dun & Bradstreet India’s Top PSU Award 2022 in the category of Digital Transformation. The award was received by CMD GRSE Commodore PR Hari, IN (Retd.) on September 29, 2022 at the PSU and Government Summit held in New Delhi.

GRSE as a Defence Public Sector Undertaking has in the recent past embarked on a journey of digital transformation in a big way with a complete revamp of the IT landscape in the Shipyard. In-house Data Centre, Disaster Recovery Facility, Virtual Reality Lab to aid smart manufacturing, improvisation in the employee portal, e-procurement, digital file movements, network application & communication system.

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd., a premier Warship building Company in India is the first shipyard of independent India to build a Seaward Defence Boat (SDB) INS Ajay for Indian Navy in 1961. GRSE also built the first ever Indian Export Warship “CGS Barracuda”. Over last 62 years, GRSE, a PCMM Level-2 Certified Company, has built 788 platforms including 107 warships for Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and Government of Mauritius & Seychelles Coast Guard – highest warships built & delivered by any Indian shipyard till date. From Frigates, Corvettes, Fleet Tankers, Landing Ship Tank, Landing Craft Utility to Survey Vessels, Offshore Patrol Vessels and Fast Attack Craft – the repertoire is rich and varied.

In addition to ship building, GRSE is also engaged in engine production and other engineering activities. The engineering division manufactures deck machinery items, pre-fabricated portable steel bridges and marine pumps.
