GRSE Bags 91st SKOCH Awards for ‘Unique Transfer & Loading of Fully Built 250T Goliath Crane’

Kolkata:  Defence PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) and a leading warship building company, won the prestigious 91st SKOCH Awards for ‘Unique Transfer & Loading of Fully Built 250T Goliath Crane’.

Two projects of GRSE, including the ‘Unique Transfer & Loading of Fully Built 250T Goliath Crane’ and ‘Ventilation Noise Reduction Measures Towards Resolution of High Bridge Wing Noise Onboard IN LCU ships’, made to the semi-finals of SKOCH Awards, with the former winning the award at a virtual award ceremony held in New Delhi on May 4, 2023.

GRSE’s project stood out amongst numerous entries at the SKOCH Awards, which recognizes excellence in socio-economic development. The Goliath crane with a capacity of 250 tonnes, was manufactured in South Korea and transported by sea to GRSE in fully assembled condition. Overcoming technical challenges and adverse weather conditions, the crane was commissioned on June 22, 2021.

GRSE has delivered over 100 warships to the Indian Navy, Coast Guard and other friendly foreign countries. With this latest recognition, GRSE affirms its position as a leader in the shipbuilding industry, committed to leveraging innovation and technology to drive growth & competitiveness.
