EDGE and L3Harris Opens New State-of-the-Art EO/IR Service Centre in Abu Dhabi

The facility is a collaboration between EARTH, an entity of EDGE Group, and L3Harris Technologies

ABU DHABI, UAE:  EDGE Group PJSC (EDGE), one of the world’s leading advanced technology and defence groups, today announced the opening of a new WESCAM Authorized Service Center (WASC) at EARTH’s EOCE Facility in Abu Dhabi. The state-of-the-art WASC is a collaboration between EARTH, an entity of EDGE Group, and L3Harris Technologies, one of the world’s leading EO/IR imaging and targeting sensor systems manufacturers.

Managed and operated by EARTH’s expert, locally-trained UAE nationals, the enhanced 33,000 -square-foot of cleanroom facility, equipped with state of art special test equipment, resources and technology required to service as prime in country for WESCAM MXTM-Series EO/IR systems. These systems are operated by the UAE’s National security, Armed Forces, and other regional customers. Combined with EDGE’s in-country experience and mission execution readiness, the facility will increase customer operational availability, improve mean time between failures (MTBF), and reduce the maintenance and repair turn-around time.

EARTH will operate the facility within its Electro-Optical Centre of Excellence (EOCE), one of the world’s leading EO/IR imaging and targeting sensor systems service facilities, with L3Harris. The opening fulfils EDGE’s commitment to form strategic partnerships, as it leverages its position as the regional leader in advanced technologies in the defence sector.
