BEL Achieves Rs 11,789.22 Cr Turnover in FY 2018-19

Bangalore. Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) achieved a turnover of Rs 11789.22 cr (audited) for the FY 2018-19 ended on March 31, 2019 registering a growth of 16.90 per cent over the turnover of Rs 10084.84 cr achieved in the previous year.

The profit after tax (PAT) for the FY 2018-19 stood at Rs 1927.29 cr as against Rs 1399.29 cr registering an increase of 37.73 per cent over previous year.

For the quarter ending March 2019, the company achieved a turnover of Rs 3772.60 cr as against Rs 3427.97 cr for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 668.62 cr as against Rs 558.74 cr for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The company has paid an interim dividend of Rs 1.70 per share for the FY 2018-19 and the Board has recommended further amount of Rs 1.70 per share as final dividend for the year 2018-19 at the meeting held on May 29, subject to approval in the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The total dividend payout for FY 2018-19 works out to Rs 3.40 per share, as against Rs 2.00 per share in the previous year. The dividend payout is 42.98 per cent on PAT as against 35.06 per cent for the previous year.

The order book position as on April 1 is Rs 51798 cr. With a healthy order book position and the projects in pipeline the company is poised for a sustaining growth in the coming years with commensurate profitability.

During the year, the company has successfully completed the supply of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) within a stringent delivery schedule to meet the requirement of Election Commission for the general elections.
